Ongoing Projects


Improved Justice And Legal Aid Services (IJLAS)- CLS Project:

Duration: 01.03.2013 to 31.12.2017

Objective: To promote governance and legal services for the poor people.

Major activities: Baseline data collection; awareness campaign initiatives, organize legal aid camp at the community and establish upazila legal aid center; meeting and workshops with local elected bodies, administration, judicial, law-years and law-enforcing agencies and legal supports for the poor people.

Implementation process: The project is being implementing for strengthening capacities of the community people and closely works with the local elected bodies and community police.

Source of fund: DFID-Light House.

 

Strengthening Civic Engagement in Elections and Political Processes Project:

Duration: 01.05.2013 to 31.12.2016

Objective: To enhance transparency and democratic accountability in electoral process.

Major activities: Survey on election situation, voter education, policy dialogue, advocacy election campaign, election observation and monitoring.

Implementation process: The project is being implementing in close linkage with the local administration and local level offices of the election commission.

Source of fund: The Asia Foundation-EWG.

 

Community Empowerment in Combating Violence Against Women and Girls Project:

Duration: 01.10.2013 to 31.12.2016

Objective: To strengthen the community people in reducing violence against women and girls through establishing gender equal family and society.

Major activities: Develop database; organize NNP groups, youth groups, school sessions, school debate competition, sessions with NNP groups; orientation/training/meetings with NNP groups and legal aid committees, development of community legal volunteers, community program on ending violence against women, parents counseling and publicity campaign.

Implementation process: The project is being implementing for developing and strengthening civil society platform in effective coordination and linkage with local administration, law enforcing agencies and legal aid committee at union, upazila and district.

Source of fund: Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF).

 

Legal Supports Programme:

Duration: 01.07.2013 to ongoing

Objective: To supports the poor women victims getting legal rights.

Major activities: Meetings/workshops with local UP and community leaders, family counseling, local mitigation, referral and legal support to the poor women victims.

Implementation process:Knowing the findings through physical visits and try to resolve the incidence through local mitigation/family counseling and refer to DLAC for legal supports.

Source of fund: NDP’s own fund.
