Mother & Child Benefit Programme (MCBP)

Duration: July 20, 2022 to July 19, 2024

Specific objectives are; (a) to strengthen self-registration process by creating awareness through innovative campaign strategies; (b) to ensure identification and enrollment of eligible pregnant women; (c) to make sure functional monthly payment system; (d) to ensure use of the allowance to fulfill their nutritional needs; (e) to create and promote awareness among the project participants on food, nutrition and hygiene; (f) to increase access to maternal health related services for safe motherhood and up-birthing; and (g)  to generate evidence from the learning hubs to support scale up and generate necessary information for adaptations of the program as well as advocate for improvement of the MCBP.

Major Activities : a. orientation of various stakeholders on MCBP; b. training for resource pool members; c. Different committees, departments and service providers level coordination meeting; d. quarterly planning coordination and review meeting; e. learning sharing meeting with different level of stakeholders; f. campaign and promotional activities of MCBP awareness; g. SMS based message dissemination; and h. dissemination of nutrition capital SBCC.

Matching of SDG: SDG-1 : End poverty in all its forms everywhere and SDG-2 : End hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
