Enhance Resilience Capacity of the Climate-Induced People (ERCCP)

Duration: August 01, 2022, to July 31, 2025

Objectives are; (1) To increase the income of the Climate-Induced Migrant Households (CMHs) through livelihood practices that increase economic resilience (the ability to recover/absorb climate hazards or shocks and having the capacity to withstand them); and (2) to improve lives of the targeted CMHs through awareness on CCA, WASH, health, drainage, waste management, housing, cleanliness, gender, etc. and better WASH services that enhance resilience against climate change.

Major Activities: a. Selection of most vulnerable climate migrant households as project beneficiaries; b. Support the CMHs to develop a livelihood improvement plan to enhance resilience against climate change; c. Formation of IGA groups and facilitate sessions on various aspects of IGA management including resilience building; d. Support the CMHs to implement IGA or employable skills through providing skill training, and small grant technical support. e. Facilitate to development of slum improvement plans and capacity building to implement the plans; f. Facilitation awareness raising among beneficiaries on CCA, WASH, health, drainage, waste management, housing, cleanliness, gender, etc. issues; g. Construction of double platform tube-well, family latrine, tube-wells with the platform, and rehabilitation of existing tube-well and latrine; and h. Support the CMHs for climate adaptive /resilient houses in raised plinths and re-building houses in a plan and eco-friendly way.

SDG-3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages; and SDG-4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
