Extended Community Climate Change Project-Flood (ECCCP-Flood)

 Duration : October 25, 2020 to April 26, 2024

Objectives : (a) To strengthen capacity of institution (Implementing Entity the NDP) and community groups; (b) to protect homestead from adverse effect of flood; (c) to increase access of safe dirinking water and sanitation; and (d) to ensure access to flood resilient livelihood.

Major activities : Formation of climate change adaptation groups (CCAG); vulnerabilities assessment and preparation of action plan; organize training and workshop on Climate Change for beneficiaries and stakeholders; raise homestead above flood level; installation of flood resilient tube-wells; construction of sanitary latrines; rearing of goat/sheep in slatted houses.

Implementation process : Elaborate survey, beneficiaries selection; develop self help groups, strengthen capacity of the implementing organization (the NDP) and strengthen capacity of the self help groups and community people as well; increase adaptation capacity and provide direct support services.

Matching of SDG : SDG-06 : Ensure availability and sustainable management of Water and Sanitation for all;

                                  SDG-13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact.  

Source of fund : Green Climate Fund (GCF) under United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) through PKSF.
