Strengthen Civil Society and Public Institutions to Address Combating Gender-Based Violence at Rajshahi

 

Duration: September 01, 2020 to June 30, 2022

 

Objective : (a) To promote gender equality and the protection of women’s human rights by reducing violence women & girls in targeted area; (b) Strengthening of public institutions to ensure responsiveness towards gender concerns including VAWG.

 

Major activities: (a) Form and strengthening of groupsthrough meeting, orientation on social issues; (b) Social support group for participating in action against GBV; (c) Strengthen coordination among VAW prevention committee, civil society, administration, public institutions and LGIs.

 

Implementation process: The programme is being implemented in group approach. There are different village level groups: male, female, adolescent (boys and girls) and youth. Conduct regular sessions and meeting with the groups. Group’s members are actively involved in stopping violence against women and girls at their village level.  Civil societies are encouraged to act as pressure group to establish women human rights. Coordination with different government agencies and private organizations that are involved in women rights issues.
